About the label
La Sposa Berlinese aims to break the conventional bridalwear mould by offering elegant, fashion-forward pieces at a realistic price point for modern brides.
Fairness and quality are at the core of La Sposa Berlinese production. The collections are designed and sampled by me, Maki, the founder of La Sposa Berlinese in the Berlin studio.
With years of working as a pattern maker and sample maker, I take pride in a beautiful fit and silhouette.
Each piece is produced at my studio in Berlin and materials are sourced from European and Japanese suppliers.
About the designer
Hello, I'm Maki, I'm the designer behind La Sposa Berlinese.
I have started my own bridal wear label "La Sposa Berlinese" with a vision to offer modern brides wedding outfits that are neither traditional nor boho but classical and romantic in a fashion-forward way.
I was born in Japan and I adored fashion from an early age and I had my heart set on becoming a fashion designer. At age 16, I moved to London to study fashion at London College of Fashion, then to Central Saint Martins.
I have worked for various high-end fashion brands as a pattern cutter and sample maker, such as Alexander McQueen, Vivienne Westwood and David Koma in London for 8 years. My work has been on the catwalks in London, NY and Paris fashion week and worn by celebrities for events and TV appearances.
After living in London for 21 years, I moved to Berlin in 2016 to live with my long-term partner and to launch my own bridal wear label "La Sposa Berlinese".
